Industry analysis
Filipino people started to love eating doughnuts more popularly known as donuts as early as 1980 which they adopted from the USA. From the streets of Boston, USA in 1955, Mister Donut reached the Philippines in 1982 and is now one of the fastest-growing food brands in the country. Favoured doughnuts are always in trend because they are flexible in terms of flavour and design and can easily adapt to an occasion. The popularity of the donut still increases and the most in-demand course offered in the Philippines is culinary or related in
cooking and baking.
Market Analysis
In the survey, it has been identified that 53% of customers are female and 47% are male. Many of the customers are young because they love a surprise using donuts as a gift to their loved ones and at homecomings for their family. Customer demographics show the current customers are in an income range of P20,000 or more, have two-income families, have professional occupations, are concerned about the environment, and are located primarily in urban areas. Research also shows these customers are educated, mostly students and teenagers, followed by the consumers who already have a college degree.

Major competitors are Mister Donuts, Dunkin Donuts, li’l Orbits, Go Donuts, Krispy Kreme, and Donut King.

Le Petit Prince is a new small artisan enterprise that will concentrate on baking and doughnuts with Philippine flavours and both sustainable and recyclable printed and packaging material as a primary selling point. Freshly baked on the premises and served with locally grown coffee, again freshly roasted and brewed on the premises. Rather than a standard image or cartoon of a doughnut; it is with a French twist, that marketing and the logo concentrate on a hand-drawn image of a young boy both offering a youthful and welcoming atmosphere to the product and the store.
